But they have no effect on the common mode current between phases and the cable shielding, and between the windings and the stator/rotor of the motor. Common mode filters bring several benefits: b Reduction of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) of the motor cable and improvement of the effectiveness of the EMC filter for conducted emissions b Reduction of the high frequency currents circulating in the bearings of the motor and prevention of their damage. It is possible to use the common mode filter at the output terminals of the drive, the dV/dt filter, or the sinus filter. Note : The selection of a common mode configuration depends on the type and length of motor cable. An abnormal increase of the temperature indicates a possible saturation. Additional ilters shall be used to avoid it.
